Process refrigeration that keeps pace with the production line

Carcass chillers, blast freezers, process water and chilled production rooms all have to perform on schedule, every shift. We design and build the plant against your real throughput and pull-down times, then maintain it so the line is never waiting on refrigeration.

What the refrigeration has to deliver

  • Pull-down times the process depends on

    Product has to reach temperature within the time your customers and your food-safety plan specify. We calculate product loads from throughput, entry temperature and target temperature, and size the plant to meet them.

  • Rooms people work in

    Boning, processing and packing rooms need to stay cold without draughts on staff or dripping coils over open product. Coil selection, air distribution and defrost are designed for the room and the people in it.

  • Washdown and harsh conditions

    Hose-down cleaning, chemicals and constant humidity are hard on coils, fans and electrical gear. Equipment and materials are specified for that environment, and maintenance is scheduled around sanitation shifts.

  • Industrial refrigerants handled properly

    Many processing plants run on ammonia, and more are moving to CO₂. We design, install and service both, with the charge, safety and ventilation requirements each refrigerant brings.

  • Downtime measured in lost production

    A failed chiller can stop a shift. Programmed maintenance targets the components that fail first, and the 24/7 line reaches a technician when something does go.

Sized to throughput, not floor area

A processing room is not a coolroom with a bigger door. The load moves through the day with production — warm product arriving, washdown, shift changes — and the plant has to carry the peak, not the average. We start from how much product moves through each room, at what temperature, and how quickly it has to come down.

Cooling and heating on the same site

Processing sites often need refrigeration and hot water at the same time. Heat rejected by the refrigeration plant can be recovered for washdown and process water, and we assess where that pays as part of the design and energy work. On existing plant, measured energy analysis finds the setpoint, defrost and control changes that cut consumption without touching production.

Work planned around production

Upgrades and changeovers are staged around production schedules and cleaning shifts, so product always has somewhere cold to go. Every system is commissioned against its design conditions and handed over with the settings and records the next technician needs.
