Cold stores that hold temperature through every dock movement
Freezer warehouses, chilled distribution centres and multi-temperature stores run around the clock, with doors opening all day. We design, install and maintain the plant that keeps each room at setpoint — sized for the load the store really carries, and serviced so it stays there.
What the refrigeration has to deliver
Temperature held under a working load
In a busy store, air coming through dock doors is often the largest load on the plant. We calculate it from how the store runs — door sizes, traffic and dwell times — and select evaporators and defrost to match.
No window for a shutdown
A full store has nowhere to move its product. Upgrades are staged room by room, and redundancy is decided at design stage so one failed compressor does not cost a whole room.
Running cost on a 24-hour load
Cold store plant runs every hour of the year, so small inefficiencies compound. We log head pressure, defrost and fan operation, and put a cost against each fix before you spend.
Natural refrigerants at scale
Ammonia and CO₂ suit large, continuously loaded stores. We design, install and service both, including the charge, safety and ventilation requirements each refrigerant carries.
Faults found before they cost a room
Programmed maintenance checks the defrost, drains, door heaters and controls that fail first in freezer stores. When something does fail, the 24/7 line reaches a technician directly.
Where the load really comes from
Panels and insulation are the easy part of the calculation. In a working cold store the harder numbers are dock door openings, forklift traffic, product arriving warmer than the room, and the moisture that comes in with every pallet and ends up as ice on the coils. We work those loads out from how your site operates, then size evaporators, defrost and plant against them.
Freezer rooms have their own failure points
Low-temperature rooms fail in ways a chiller room does not: ice building up around doors, frozen drain lines, slab heating that has quietly stopped, and coils that defrost too often or not often enough. These are designed for at the start, checked at every maintenance visit, and put on alarms so a drift is caught before product temperature moves.
Built to be extended
Cold stores grow. The plant, controls and design basis are documented at handover, so another room, another rack or a change of refrigerant is added to a system that is already understood.
